iPatch

Hey,

We celebrated 'Talk Like a Pirate' day at work last week. In honor of this, there were cheap, black cardboard eyepatches left on every desk by the fun-loving management team.

I didn't think to wear a costume (shame) although many did. However, I took a friends idea and ran with it.

I turned my patch inside out so that it was plain white cardboard. Then I wrote the word 'iPatch' on it in big black block letters. Then I amused myself for 8 hours by watching the reactions of people who read it.

Good times.

After picking myself of the floor... That's hilarious!

It makes up for the shame of you missing an opportunity to wear a costume.

It's a poor substitute for a proper costume, but I do improvise well, to be sure. :-P

Nearly every Radio morning crew in Calgary was taking about the day that morning. TLAPD has broken the mainstream, after several years of obscurity.

When I greeted my co-workers with "Ahoy maties! How be ye on this fine mornin'?" I got nothing but eye rolls and quizzical looks, even after having warned them the week previous that the day was aproaching.

Despite the media coverage, they actually said to me, "It's not a real thing. It's not real."

Then, apparantly, someone e-mailed the link to the web site to Sean, and he forwarded it to everyone here with only two words: "It's real."

Thanks for that.

Anyway, my point is this; as under-paid and unappreciated as you are there, your management team kicks major butt for getting into the spirit.

DrH - No, I'm still working up the nerve to wear that one to work. I'm thinking this friday is the day. There is no denying that that would have been teh roxxx0rz, my friend.

V - Much as I can and do find fault with my company, there are those who make the occasional thing pretty cool. Mad props indeed.
